Brian Lara has reclaimed top spot of the PricewaterhouseCoopers batting ratings in the wake of his record-breaking 400 not out. He replaced Matthew Hayden at the summit, who also had his previous world-record score of 380 eclipsed by Lara.
However, Lara has a threat to his crown, with Rahul Dravid closing in on the No. 1 spot. Dravid, who scored 270 in India's first innings in the current Test against Pakistan, is in fourth place at the moment. But depending on how that match ends, there is an outside chance that he will overtake Lara when the figures are updated later this week.
Stephen Harmison cemented his place in the top 10 bowling rankings - the only Englishman there - after his 23 wickets in the series earned him fourth position. Matthew Hoggard is the next England bowler on the list in 16th place.
