Lara To Miss World Series Cup In Australia (28 Nov 1995)

Brian Lara has been given permission to miss the West Indies` tour of Australia next month, when they will take part in the Benson and Hedges World Series Cup. Lara will still be available for the World Cup early next year.

The West Indies Board had urged Lara to re-consider his request over the weekend. Last Thursday, they announced that Lara and Carl Hooper had been fined 10 per cent of their earnings from the England tour for being absent without leave at periods during that trip.

Lara will be replaced by Roland Holder for the World Series Cup in Australia.
