Melbourne tribute cancelled

The tribute service for David Hookes at the MCG on February 5 has been cancelled.

Speaking from Adelaide for the Hookes family, manager Rob Zadow expressed their desire to not proceed with the service as planned. "David's funeral service on Tuesday was carefully and lovingly crafted to offer a fitting tribute and ensured everyone had an opportunity to grieve" Zadow said.

"We believe it achieved those things in a way which makes a further public service inappropriate at this time. As David would say, let's get on with it".

Zadow added that the Hookes family wanted to again thank the public for their support during such a difficult time. "David's family and close friends would like to reiterate their thanks to everyone during this most difficult period".
