Jacob Oram and Kyle Mills have been included in New Zealand's 30-member provisional squad for the World Cup in the West Indies beginning in March. Daryl Tuffey, the fast bowler, and allrounder Chris Harris have also been recalled.
Oram and Mills have been out of action since the Champions Trophy in India last year due to injuries. Tuffey, who has also struggled with injuries over the last two years, returned to action in the domestic State Shield, though he managed just two wickets in six games. Lou Vincent, the opening batsman, was overlooked for the home series against Sri Lanka and the CB Series but has also been given a place.
The newcomers in the squad include Nathan McCullum, the Otago allrounder and brother of New Zealand wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum, and Mark Orchard, the Northern Districts allrounder. John Bracewell, the New Zealand coach, said the final squad will be trimmed to 15 on February 13.
