Karachi, Aug 29: Pakistan captain Moin Khan on Tuesday said he was on
course to regain complete fitness in the next 10 days. During a
training session at the National Stadium, the wicket-keeper said his
knees were responding very well to the strain he has put on them
during the last few weeks.
He said he would increase the workload on them from Wednesday so that
the exact picture emerges. "I have been informing Dale Naylor
(physiotherapist) about my day-to-day training. He seems pretty happy.
"He has advised some additional exercises to strengthen the knee
muscles. Amongst some of the notable exercises are swimming and ups
and downs," the wicket-keeper said.
Moin said the cancellation of the Toronto series would give him some
more time to recover. He said the more time he got, the better he
would be when he returns to national duty.
Commenting on the team's performance in Singapore, the skipper said it
was satisfactory. He argued that reduction in the overs created a
disadvantage for the team. "Pakistan had to bowl with fielding
restrictions while South Africa only had to defend the circle in only
10 overs."
Moin agreed with stand-in skipper Waqar Younis saying the youngsters
have to respond quickly to what they are taught.
