Indian batsmen have traditionally been excellent players of spin bowling, but over the last few years, more than one spinner has had a fair amount of success against them. Have the stats for Indian batsmen against spin dipped in the last few years? Some of the key numbers suggest they have.
- India's average against spin has slipped to 34.22 since the beginning of 2012. Between 1990 and 2011, they averaged 45 against spin.
- Among the top seven Test teams, only England's batsmen have a poorer average against spin than India's 34.22.
- Since January 2012, five spinners have taken ten or more wickets against India at an average of less than 32.
