PAKISTAN v INDIA 1982-83

The fourth and fifth days' play were washed out by heavy and unseasonable thunderstorms

15-Apr-1984
The fourth and fifth days' play were washed out by heavy and unseasonable thunderstorms. Although India had lost the series at Hyderabad, their display in this fifth Test provided some consolation. Amarnath scored another century, establishing a new third-wicket record for India against Pakistan of 190, with Yashpal, and there was an outstanding performance by Kapil Dev, who claimed the last three wickets in Pakistan's innings in five balls and finished with eight for 85, his best Test figures. However, this time it was a Pakistani, Mudassar, who carried his bat through an innings, thus emulating, with his 152 not out, his father, Nazar Mohammad, who did the same against India in Lucknow in 1952-53.
