Dinda back with a bang
After being given his Supergiants debut, Ashok Dinda had to wait an hour before he was handed the new ball because of rain. He began with a full inswinger that David Warner drove to mid-off but Dinda, thinking it had hit pad before bat, appealed vociferously. No one else joined in, though, and Dinda quickly ended it. Three balls later, Warner cut a wide ball and was caught at backward point. There was no need for an appeal and Dinda marked the moment with his imitation of Cristiano Ronaldo's cross-armed celebration. He later admitted he was a fan of Ronaldo.
No hits, two misses for Rahane
In the 16th over, Shikhar Dhawan charged at a googly from M Ashwin and attempted a lofted drive without getting to the pitch of the ball. The ball looped towards long-off, where Rahane ran in to collect the skier. All he could do, though, was juggle the ball and tumble over. But then he recovered quickly and fired the throw to the bowler's end, where the bails were dislodged via M Ashwin's knee. It could have been a spectacular save from Rahane, but Naman Ojha had just made his ground.
Bhuvneshwar does a Dinda
Dinda had got Supergiants off to the ideal start with a wicket-maiden in the first over of the game. Bhuvneshwar Kumar did the same for Sunrisers. His first four balls honed in around off, forcing Rahane to defend. Then - much like in Dinda's opening over - Bhuvneshwar bowled one slightly wider outside off and Rahane cut to backward point, where Eoin Morgan juggled but held on to the catch.
Thisara's three pairs
Thisara Perera, bowling the last over, varied his deliveries in pairs. The first ball was a wide yorker, which Bhuvneshwar sliced for four between short third man and backward point. No one moved. The second ball was also full and wide outside the off stump. Bhuvneshwar cut in the same gap. No one moved. Perera adjusted - or tried to. The next two balls were full tosses. Bhuvneshwar mis-timed the first to midwicket for two, and holed out to long-on off the second. Perera had one more pair to roll out: two well-executed yorkers off the final two balls, which conceded just two runs.
