Peshawar, Quetta complete innings victories

Peshawar captain Akbar Badshah's decision to enforce the follow-on paid off, as Lahore Shalimar folded for 135 on the final day, to hand the visitors an innings victory at the Gaddafi Stadium. Lahore Shalimar resumed on 18 for no loss and lost a wicket upfront without scoring a run. From there on, wickets fell at quick intervals with none of the batsmen doing better than Asif Raza's 38. Offspinner Sajjad Ahmed was the wrecker-in-chief, claiming 5 for 34. Fast bowlers Afaq Ahmed and Waqar Ahmed shared the other five scalps between them as Peshawar won by an innings and 45 runs.

Quetta completed an innings-and-90-run win against Multan, following a dramatic final-day collapse by the hosts at the Multan Cricket Stadium. Quetta had piled up 476 in reply to Multan's first-innings score of 304. Multan went to stumps on day three on 23 for 1, trailing by 149. None of their top seven batsmen could get into double figures on the final day, and they were shot out for 82, primarily due to an incisive spell from fast bowler Arun Lal, who took 6 for 36.

Bazid Khan's unbeaten 61 helped Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) pull off a tricky chase and earn a three-wicket victory against Hyderabad at the Niaz Stadium. The final day began with Hyderabad on 117 for 7 in their second innings, leading by 144. They extended that to 162 as the last three wickets fell for 18 runs in the morning. KRL's Nayyer Abbas finished with 4 for 41. The chase of 163 got off to a rocky start as KRL lost both openers with the score on 11, and the third wicket when they had only 24. Bazid held up one end and received some support from Abbas, who scored briskly to make 38 off 50 balls. Imran Chandino, making his first-class debut, caused flutters in the KRL camp, though, as he cut through the middle order to finish with 4 for 52. Bazid, however, could not be dismissed and he made the difference for KRL.

Lahore Ravi batted out 64 overs against United Bank Limited (UBL) to ensure at draw at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground. UBL batted ten overs in the morning and got to 300 for 8 before declaring, setting Lahore Ravi 260 for a win. Lahore Ravi's batsmen did not make a dash for the target, but could not bat out time either and fell at regular intervals. That they were able to manage a draw was down to a knock of 65 from Mohammad Saad and an unbroken 47-run stand for the fifth wicket between Ashraf Ali and Saad Nasim.
