Tame draw at Lake View

Tall scoring featured the Elephant Lemonade Cup inter-school cricket match between St. Sylvester's College nd Dharmaraja College which ended in a tame draw at Lake View grounds, Kandy recently.

For the Rajans Yasas Jayasundera hit a hectic 157 with 19 fours and team mate and 16 year old Haresh Ratnayake made a neatly compiled 93 with 12 fours and Chathura Wickremanayake also chipped in with a quick 52 not out with 8 fours to help their side to total 342 for 5 declared in 102.1 overs.

But the Sylvestrians took the honours by amassing 397 for 8 declared in only 83.4 overs. Skipper Ranga Dissanayake stroked an elegant 111 with 10 fours and 2 sixes while the ever consistent Chanaka Wijesinghe thumped a quick 84 with 7 fours and 1 six and Arosha Perera swelled the total with 59 (2 fours, 2 sixes).

St. Sylvester's College 397 for 8 declared in 83.4 overs (Ranga Dissanayake 111, Chanaka Wijesinghe 84, Arosha Perera 59, Tilantha Liyanage 37, J. Weerasinghe 17, K. Konara 14, Z. Hajireen 34, C. Wickremanayake 3 for 57, N. Ekanayake 3 for 85, A. Marapona 2 for 32) and 66 for 3 wickets in 10 overs (R. Dissanayake 23, C. Wijesinghe 24, C. Wickremanayake 2 for 23).

Dharmaraja College 342 for 5 declared in 102.1 over (Yasas Jayasundera 157, Haresh Ratnayake 93, C. Wickremanayake 52 not out).
