Kumara Sangakkara smashed his fastest ODI hundred. His 117 came off just 86 balls • Getty Images
9.2 Mathews to Ali, OUT, and a wicket from nowhere. Moeen has thrown this away. A length ball outside off, and he plays a lazy neither-here-nor-there drive. He has neither played the classic off drive along the ground looking to beat mid-off either side. Nor is this a full-blooded attempt to go over the man's head. Almost like he has changed his mind halfway through the shot and has checked that full-bloodied drive. Easy catch for mid-off. Soft dismissal from Moeen
MM Ali c Lakmal b Mathews 15 (43m 26b 3x4 0x6) SR: 57.69
12.2 Dilshan to Ballance, OUT, and Ballance goes. Dilshan has woken up too with a lovely catch. Ballance plays a nothing push in front of his body, the ball doesn't turn, hits the inside half of the bat, and lobs back towards the umpire. Dilshan changes direction in follow-through and dives to his left to take the catch
GS Ballance c & b Dilshan 6 (10m 14b 1x4 0x6) SR: 42.85
13.3 Mathews to Root, no run, and Root has edged this to where the regulation slip would have been. Jayawardene dives to his left, and has failed to hold on to this low offering. Regulation slip, and this would have been a sitter. He does get both hands to it, but because he is diving he fails to hold on
20.2 Lakmal to Bell, OUT, bowled him. Against the run of play. Bell goes back shaking his head. He has made a meal of mostly a straight half-volley. Pushes at it just outside off, and gets a big inside edge back onto the stumps. Just plays down the wrong line
IR Bell b Lakmal 49 (87m 54b 7x4 0x6) SR: 90.74
22.2 Lakmal to Root, 2 runs, Root gets away with another ill-advised pull. Again this is not short enough and he is dragging this from wide outside off. The top edge falls fine of long leg
43.5 Mathews to Root, FOUR, that's the hundred for Root. Short of a length, wide, he drives it on the up, with an open face, past cover-point. He drops his bat at the non-striker's end and begins to celebrate. Youngest England player to score a hundred in a World Cup match
18.6 Ali to Dilshan, OUT, Moeen provides the breakthrough. The dip does it for him. This is full, into the pads, but it has dipped on him. The ball turns out to be shorter than Dilshan first expects it to. Ends up getting a leading edge to short midwicket
TM Dilshan c Morgan b Ali 44 (81m 55b 4x4 2x6) SR: 80.00
37.6 Anderson to Thirimanne, 1 run, Mo has made a meal of it. This is as gentle a catch as they come in international cricket. Scooped towards cover where Moeen is caught at the ring and moves only sideways. Doesn't take the half step he needs to to take the catch. As if that 30-yard circle is a ring of fire
38.1 Woakes to Thirimanne, 1 run, and there comes Thiri's hundred. Drives this to deep cover and begins to celebrate. Sanga joins him in the celebration. He is pumped up. Youngest Sri Lankan to score a WC century
41.2 Anderson to Sangakkara, 2 runs, slugged back at him, Broad gets a boot to it, the ball goes softly towards long-off. It gives Sanga time to come back for the second to bring up his fastest hundred, beating the mark he had achieved only in his last ODI
