Karachi, March 25: The announcement of the 17-member Pakistan cricket
team for the tour of the West Indies is likely to be delayed for one
day.
According to sources, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt
Gen Tauqir Zia had not reached Sharjah though the entire selection
committee is in the desert city. He was expected there on Sunday
morning.
The team was to be announced on Sunday but it will be named on Monday.
Sources added that the selection committee will meettomorrow after the
match against India.
"The fitness of Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar will once again be
monitored before a decision regarding their selection is taken.
"Saqlain Mushtaq and Azhar Mahmood also have not reached Sharjah
though they were scheduled to be there on Saturday evening," sources
said.
