The India-Pakistan World T20 match on March 19 has been moved from Dharamsala to Kolkata. ESPNcricinfo takes you through the series of events that made the ICC take this decision:
December 11, 2015: The ICC releases fixtures of the World T20. The Super10s match between India and Pakistan is allotted to Dharamsala, scheduled for March 19.
February 9, 2016: PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan says the decision to play World T20 matches at Indian venues will only be taken after consulting with the central government. On February 25, the team is cleared to participate in the tournament.
March 1, 2016: BCCI secretary, Anurag Thakur, expresses concerns over a letter written by Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh to India's Ministry of Home Affairs in which the chief minister expresses his state government's difficulty in providing security for the match. Thakur is from the BJP, which heads the federal government; Singh belongs to the Congress.
March 3, 2016: The PCB threatens to pull out of the tournament unless there is a clear and public assurance from the Indian government on the team's security arrangements. Thakur, in response, is confident of the match taking place in Dharamsala.
March 5, 2016: The Pakistan government constitutes a three-member security delegation to assess the security arrangements for the Pakistan men and women's team for the World T20 in India. Both teams are scheduled to depart only after a clearance from the delegation.
March 7, 2016 : The Pakistan delegation arrives in India for its tour. David Richardson, the ICC's chief executive, is confident the match will take place as scheduled.
March 8, 2016 : Tournament director, MV Sridhar, says the India-Pakistan match in Dharamsala "will definitely happen" after meeting India's federal home minister, Rajnath Singh in New Delhi. Sridhar says the state government has assured completely security.
March 8, 2016: The report of the three-member delegation says "security is not assured" at the venue. Pakistan ask the ICC for a change of location for the game, while the departure of the teams is put on hold.
March 9, 2016: The match is moved to Kolkata. Richardson explains that the ICC's concerns "relate both to uncertainty as to the level of those threats as well as the level of commitment to implement any security plan developed to mitigate such treats."
