Jacques Rudolph was predicting great things ahead of the first semi-final.
That's ridiculous. You can't give a girl a boy's initials.
Nevertheless, it did turn out to be a cracking match. Brian Lara was so excited that someone apparently tried to euthanise him.
An hour later, he was promising reincarnation as one of those people addicted to caps lock and exclamation marks.
Back in the cricket, New Zealand was eternally grateful for Daniel Vettori's ability to run byes through to the wicketkeeper.
And after they won, the Kiwis celebrated in style.
While the losers could only apologise to those they let down.
Wait a minute. Alviro Petersen wasn't even playing. What's he apologising for?
Maybe for talking like Michael Vaughan while the match was in progress.
His predictions were about as accurate as Vaughan's as well.
Earlier in the tournament, Glenn Maxwell had unveiled a shot that can only be described as a back away, look away, accidental cut through point.
Apologies.
Last time around, Tino Best was moaning about "Simone" Doull. Has he still got a problem with the Kiwi commentator?
It would seem so. Tough times. But as Kemar Roach says…
And sure enough.
Strong feelings. It really takes something quite extreme for Tino to produce a tweet in which he doesn't include his own name as a hashtag.
One of the biggest challenges of being an international cricketer is getting used to hugely different cuisine when away on tour. Steven Finn's been eating all sorts of crazy stuff by the sounds of it.
And for our now traditional highbrow finish, who better to turn to than our regular Twitter philosopher, Saqlain Mushtaq, who had this to offer about one of the more memorable victories to take place during this World Cup.
