ICC Media Release
30-Oct-2003
If India wins against Australia in the TVS Cup in Mumbai on Saturday it will climb to third place in the official One-Day International ratings.
Victory over the ICC ODI table leaders will boost India's rating from 107 to 109, enough to put it clear in third place behind Australia and South Africa.
The middle six teams in the ratings are so tightly grouped, however, that defeat to Australia would see India fall behind England, Pakistan and West Indies to sixth spot in the official standings, with a rating of 106.
Going into Saturday's match, India is fourth in the table.
