The Western Australian Cricket Association has announced appointment of Coaching Officers.
Former Tasmanian cricketer Mr Allister de Winter, Mr Jon Decelis, Mr Joe Sarsero and former Western Warriors assistant-coach Mr Noel Knight have been appointed to coaching positions.
Mr de Winter played 20 first-class games for Tasmania; Mr Decelis returns to the WACA following a stint as Talent Identification officer with East Perth Football Club and Mr Sarsero is a regular WACA SunSmart League player with Rockingham-Mandurah.
These appointments are part of a major to restructure the WACA Cricket Department.
Their duties will be managed by WACA Coaching Manager Mr Doug Harris.
Duties include assisting cricket clubs implement coaching plans, maintain communication with Senior District WACA club from under-13 level through to A-Grade competition.
Coaching Officers will also liaise with Public School coaches and programs, the WA Education Department Cricket School Coaches and facilitate identification of talented young players for potential zone and State representation.
The WACA has also announced appointment of Community Cricket Officers.
These are: Mr Mark Sanders, Mr Dave Nicholls, Ms Angele Gray and Mr Andrew Dawe.
Communiuty Cricket Officers will be responsible to increase participation levels in school and community cricket programs, initiate cricket training programs for school teachers and deliver Level 1 coaching accreditation courses through the community
