Cricket at Lord's is a piece of cake • Andrew Fidel Fernando/ESPNcricinfo Ltd
A while ago, we asked a few players which cricketing venue had the best catering. The results were almost unanimous - no other ground came close to what Lord's had to offer. Both Heather Knight and Kyle Jamieson were floored by the giant prawns they had as an entree, while Issy Wong's complaint was that there's never enough food at Lord's!
At ESPNcricinfo we're all about investigative journalism so we sent our best minds to suss out what's on the menu in the media box. And frankly, it's a wonder any cricket gets played or any work gets done at all if the meals look like this.
Paul Muchmore reports from the table: "Every day at lunch there is a choice of meat and vegetarian main dishes, accompanied by sides and incredible salads to fill your plate with. We had some delicious curries through the week, with the railway lamb curry on day three my particular favourite, with a Kerala style duck leg - one of the other mouthwatering choices on offer. Day four was a Sunday roast."
And to really rub it in, we get a tour of afternoon tea as well that includes a cheese board, the most perfect finger sandwiches, and cakes and scones with jam and clotted cream straight out of an Enid Blyton book.
