Ireland v Afghanistan, 2016

Wisden's review of the fourth ODI, Ireland v Afghanistan, 2016

15-Apr-2017
At Belfast, July 17. Afghanistan won by 79 runs. ‡Afghanistan 229-7 (50 overs) (Rahmat Shah 48, Mohammad Nabi 50, Rashid Khan 60*); Ireland 150 (41 overs) (K. J. O'Brien 34, P. R. Stirling 31; Rashid Khan 4-21).
Afghanistan's victory was overshadowed by the run-out of Joyce. Nabi flicked the ball back, and assured the umpires he had not touched it outside the cover boundary, so the run-out stood. There was no TV coverage, but photographs were incriminating. Ireland never recovered, as Rashid followed a career-best 60* from 44 balls (he and Nabi had rescued Afghanistan from 109-6) with his best one-day figures.
