KP - 'Flintoff's not a great yet'

Kevin, can you give us your thoughts on the great allrounders?
Imran Khan - I didn't watch too much of him. But he's a legend for sure.
Ian Botham - The guy's got brilliant stats, a real class act with the bat and ball. Beefy is up there with the best ever, because he's a true competitor, he'd do anything to win. He's still one of the most competitive blokes I know.
Kapil Dev - He batted at No. 7 or 8 and was a class swing bowler. Any bloke who can bowl 85-plus mph and score Test 100s is a great in my book.
Sir Richard Hadlee - I didn't watch too much of him. I don't hang around watching old cricket videos too much. The standard has improved so much, it's better watching today's cricket.
Sir Garfield Sobers - Same as Sir Richard Hadlle,. I've never seen Gary bowl.
Are the best allrounders bowlers who can bat or a batsman who can bowl?
The best allrounders are the guys who can still get picked to bat if they've injured a bowling hand or still get picked to bowl if they can't bat. That's a true test of class.
Should a great allrounder be limited to these qualities or should it include wicketkeepers and fielders, such as Adam Gilchrist or Jonty Rhodes?
Not really. It's all about being able to score Test 100s and take wickets. Fielders wouldn't be picked in the team if they couldn't bat because of injury.
Who are the allrounders of the future, who should we be looking out for?
In England the players to watch out for are Rikki Clarke, he's got loads of talent. But like all of us, he needs to push himself another 10 per cent. Also Stuart Broad has potential. He's only 20 and has a great bowling action, but he's only batting at the tail at the moment. He has a lot to work with though.
What does it take to be a great allrounder?
Great powers of concentration. The ability to switch it on at the right times. None of us can stay switched on all day, but for that moment when the bowler bowls you need 100 per cent concentration. You also need great physical fitness.
Who is the best allrounder you have played against?
Jacques Kallis, definitely. The guy's got a batting average above 50 and has taken over 200 Test wickets. He's a class act. Otherwise, Shaun Pollock - he's an amazing cricketer. I'd stick Warney in there but he hasn't got the Test hundreds. A true great though, of course.
Freddie is one of the best out there but if he wants to be classed as a great he's going to have to get his batting average up. It's in the 30s at the moment and needs to be nearer 50. I'm sure that's going to happen though.
It took 20 years after the best of Botham until Freddie came along? Will we have to wait another 20 years until we see the new Freddie?
I hope not. They're not easy to find. Every team in the world would love six allrounders in their side.
Who will win the Ashes?
There's a huge amount of anticipation. It's going to be about who holds their nerve. The Aussies obviously have a huge advantage being at home, and we don't exactly have a good record over there. Either way it's going to be close. As for the players to watch, well, of course there's Warney but we have a couple of young players on the way up too.
What should an allrounder car be able to do?
Get me from A to B in luxury.
