9.2 to TM Head, Siraj has a riposte, lets his body language do the talking. Gentle jog, arms spread but a touch low, stoic expression with, um, a seemingly smug look of satisfaction as Head watches in disbelief. He wanted to run that through third - either along the ground or in the gap. Got a back-of-llength ball angling outside off. He crouched, and was leg side of the ball, couldn't ride the bounce with full control, and spooned a bread-basket catch to backward point. 61/1

33.4 to AT Carey, stunning catch from Shreyas Iyer running back from backward point! Back of a length outside off, he stood up tall to slap it down the ground and a top edge skewed high towards deep third but it was going to fall short of him, Iyer runs back with the flight at full tilt and takes a sensational tumbling catch! It bobbled in his hands but he held on as he thudded into the ground. 183/4
37.4 to MJ Owen, You know those shots batters hit, and the commsfolk say, 's/he'll telling about that to their grandkids...'? Harshit has pulled off the bowling equivalent of that! Particularly for a middle-overs bowler. Harshit, who hasn't always been consistent, hits a hard length at 141.8 clicks. Owen made it look better than it was, but did a really good job, by backing away and fending away from the body, plainly for survival. Easy catch at first slip. 198/6
46.2 to C Connolly, Bumper outside off, looks to carve it over extra. Proper flat-bat, proper slice. Goes to wide long-off. 236/9
46.4 to JR Hazlewood, India bowl Australia out with 3.2 overs left. Off-stump rattled and Harshit pumps his fists, 'points towards cover (likely at a team-mate) and charges forward intensely in celebration. Hazlewood could do little about that yorker, especially after backing away. His stance was open, he tried to jam bat over ball. Wanted to guide it through third. Misses. 236/10
705217.42186120
43.5 to NT Ellis, No such thing as a bad ball at the death, that's why. 141ks low fully on leg stump. Ellis is done in by the angle. Crouches, but could't adjust, and clips it to midwicket. 223/8
1005015.00264000
38.4 to MA Starc, Kuldeep turns into Agatha Christie and bamboozles Starc with some myysteeryyy spin. Top-end googly landed on a length on middle and then spun in sharply. Starc didn't read it, couldn't adjust either. Looked to punch it straight with a still base and a strong forward stride. Beated on the inside edge, dinks leg peg. 201/7
601813.00231000
15.1 to MR Marsh, Axar's angle bowls Marsh over... literally at least! 86ks length ball loops onto a length on fourth stump and keeps coming in with the angle. Not sure if Marsh thought it'd turn away or that he'd made enough room to flay it over cover, but he went for it. Stood in front of leg stump, with a stable base, and really, really went for it. All he hit with the flat-bat swoosh was air. Axar delighted... coolly. Looks up wearing them sunnies and smiles. 88/2
1004424.40251000
22.3 to MW Short, Kohli takes a sharp catch at forward square! Flighted on off, he's down one knee to nail a sweep shot flat and hard but he hits it straight to Kohli who is quite close and he plucks it falling backwards. Very little reaction time. Excellent catch. 124/3
36.2 to MT Renshaw, No way that'd be given lbw 10-15 years ago, but 2025 is here, and umps are happy to send batters on bikes even if they're hit on the front pad after dancing down, well past the crease. Renshaw does review, and ball-tracking shows why times have changed... Fullish length ball on off, Renshaw charged down - likely to take lbw out of the equation - but didn't get across outside off before being hit on the outer-left of the front shin. The across-the-line whip was beaten. Hawk-Eye says impact's off, would go on to whack middle and leg. 195/5

10.2 to Shubman Gill, Gill, who looked like he'll bat for the next seven days, has been scratched off by Hazlewood. Test ball. Good length, fourth stump. Such balls generally catch the batter unsure on whether to play forward or back. GIll didn't transfer too much, looked to defend with an open-face. The open face may have been the only mistake. Small one, but that's enough with disciplined bowling. 69/1
