0.4 to A Balbirnie, an appeal for lbw and it's given. Balbirnie wants to review it. It was another full ball by Mahmud that jagged back in sharply and also kept a touch low to beat the inside edge and hit the back leg. There is a big spike on UltraEdge as the ball passed the bat but there's a huge gap between the two, so the umpire goes with the visual evidence. "There's no way the ball could have hit the bat there," he says. The impact is umpire's call - it was just around off stump but there was no doubt that it would have hit the stumps. Balbirnie walks without opening his account. 0/1 92.2 to BJ McCarthy, that's it! Bangladesh took just 14 balls to pick up the remaining two wickets. It was a length ball on off stump that held its line. McCarthy was forward to defend but was perhaps expecting the ball to come in. Gets beaten on the outside edge and the ball hits the off stump. 286/10
| 14 | 0 | 65 | 1 | 4.64 | 53 | 8 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
26.3 to PR Stirling, Bangladesh finally hold one. It was bowled at 146.9kph, on a good length outside off stump. Stirling pushed at it with hard hands, getting a thick outside edge to second slip at a around chest height and Shadman made no mistake this time. 96/2

89.6 to J Neill, Massive appeal, and the finger goes up at last! And Taijul has struck in the very last ball of the day. It was a quick, good-length delivery angling into the middle-leg. As Neill defended off the front foot, the ball skidded through the daylight gap between bat and pad, hitting his front pad right in front of the stumps. It looked absolutely plumb to me. Neill still opted to send it upstairs, with a disappointed look, but Ultra Edge confirmed no bat was involved, and ball tracking showed all three reds and hitting the middle stump. Bangladesh finished the day with massive smiles and applause from the dugout. That will be Stumps on Day 1.. 270/8 91.2 to MJ Humphreys, full on the stumps and Humphreys goes for the sweep. There's a huge appeal for lbw and it's been given. But Humphreys reviews straightaway. Did he get a bottom edge on it? It's not clear from the first replay, so we will go to UltraEdge. No bat involved and the rest is just a formality. Humphreys had moved across. The ball pitched around leg and hit him in front of middle stump, and the ball would have hit the middle of middle stump. 278/9
| 20 | 5 | 47 | 2 | 2.35 | 97 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
63.3 to C Campher, An excellent catch at first slip and Murad has his maiden Test wicket. He tossed it up around, inviting Campher for a big hit. He went hard and got an outside edge that flew towards Shanto, who held it with both hands. 203/5 67.4 to LJ Tucker, The Bangladesh players are celebrating but Tucker is unsure what happened. Was a length ball that pitched around middle and turned past the outside edge to beat the bat. Tucker had dragged his feet out of the crease and was duly stumped. 218/6
| 23 | 6 | 50 | 3 | 2.17 | 110 | 5 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
27.5 to HT Tector, an appeal for lbw that soon transformed into a plead. But the umpire is unmoved. Bangladesh want to review it. It was a full ball around off. Tector was looking to work it on the leg side but his bat got stuck behind his front pad and the ball hit him in front of off stump and would have gone on to hit leg stump. Bangladesh have two in two. 97/3 43.2 to C Carmichael, Carmichael has chipped it in the air, and it is taken by the slip fielder! But, wait a minute, the umpire is unmoved! Miraz bowls a fuller length ball around middle-off, and Carmichael goes for the reverse sweep. This time, he fails to connect! The ball brushes off his arm and chips up in the air behind the keeper. Shanto, positioned at first slip, moved right, corrected himself, and then swiftly moved toward his left to take a diving low catch. Shanto sends it upstairs. And we go upstairs for the Ultra Edge. There's a murmur on the Ultra Edge as the ball passes the top splice of the bat, and the third umpire instructs the on-field umpire to reverse the original decision. The catch is taken cleanly, and Carmichael's brilliant debut innings has finally come to an end!. 150/4 72.5 to AR McBrine, McBrine runs out of patience. Charges down the ground to this length ball outside off and looks to hit it towards midwicket. He misses and the ball sneaks through the gap between the bat and the pad. The keeper collects it and breaks the stumps. 222/7

86.3 to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, McCarthy has struck in his first over! He has bowled an absolute peach! Landed it on a short length and got a hint of wobble just outside off, he ginerly went flailing at it and flung his bat out, got a thin edge and the keeper did the rest! This is exactly what the doctor prescribed for Bangladesh! Need a couple more to get their confidence back. Probing line and length, he had to play. 341/2 88.1 to Mominul Haque, Over the wicket, darts in another spiteful thunderbolt that rose alarmingly off the deck and squared him up! He was absolutely flummoxed and hands went up in the air in a bid to negotiate with the snorter, ends up edging it into the slip cordon and has to take the long walk back to the pavillion. Both set batters depart early in the morning. A mood-lifting start for the Ireland!. 346/3

128.4 to Najmul Hossain Shanto, good length and skids on sharpyl into his pads, looks pretty adjacent and umpires agrees. Looks pretty plumb. Was hanging back in a bid to flick it away, nothing on the ultra-edge as the ball passes the bat. three reds and Ireland make another breakthrough.. 545/6

41.1 to Shadman Islam, Over the wicket, lobbed up and spinnig in sharply from outside off, tries to cut and might have feathered it to the keeper, big appeal and no reaction from the umpire. Ireland take their chances and have sent it upstairs for another opinion. Was a flighted delivery and he went for a cut, there is indeed a thick deflection and Ireland finally strike! Shadman Islam goes for 80, an innings of note where he showed his dexterity and prowess against spin. This delivery came back viciously from outside off and he couldn't execute the late cut properly. 168/1 105.2 to Mushfiqur Rahim, massive wicket and that's a superb delivery! Mushfiqur plays down the wrong line. This one drifts in and spins away to get the leading edge and it's well taken by the close-in gully fielder diving to his left.. 425/4 123.1 to Litton Das, Harry Tector takes an absolute screamer at long-on! Backtracking, covering plenty of distance and keeping his eyes locked on the ball and gobbled at long-on! Was tossed up fuller on middle with spin and he took the bait, trying to knock it out of park but got plenty of elevation but not enough distance. Tector got off-balance but adjusted marvelously to take a stunner. 523/5 133.2 to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, top-edges this sweep that he fetches from outside off, Humphreys settles underneath the ball, calls loud and clear that it's his and pouches it safely for a fourth wicket. Poor stroke from the experienced Mehidy. He's a far better batter than that.. 561/7 139.4 to Hasan Murad, Goes down on one knee, strides forward and gets top-edge, miscuing the slog sweep, taken at deep square and Himphreys picks up a fifer, pick of the bowlers. 582/8

3.3 to C Carmichael, cleans him up with a beauty! This is some serious pace - 142.6kph - and late inward movement off a length that takes a thin inside edge as it sneaks through the big gap between bat and pad to hit middle-and-off.. 14/1 60.2 to AR McBrine, dug in short, McBrine looks to take on the short ball but the bat face turns in his hand as he makes contact and doesn't find any timing on it as short midwicket takes an absolute dolly. Bangladesh strike immediately after lunch.. 198/8
| 23.2 | 3 | 84 | 3 | 3.60 | 102 | 12 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
21.1 to HT Tector, he's a dead duck! Taijul emulates a celebrappeal that would make Siraj and Broad proud. This is reviewed, however. Taijul gets this to drift in, hit middle and spun away a touch. He's played all around this delivery and there's no bat involved. The only real question was if it was doing too much, ball tracking doesn't think so. It would've hit middle and leg.. 68/3 33.6 to MJ Humphreys, Tight line on middle and zipped quicker as well, tried to slog sweep and instead got a top-edge, as he was looking away from the ball, Shadman at short backward square takes the simplest of the catches and Bangladesh get their first wicket on a brand new day. 116/6 70.2 to BJ McCarthy, big appeal for caught behind, keeper reckons this took the leading edge on the way through to him as the batter tried to work it to the leg side. Ahsan Raza was confident this wasn't out, Bangladesh review. Ultra edge confirms a spike as ball passes the bat, so he'll have to go. And that's the end of the Test match.. 254/10

24.1 to C Campher, the last half-hour is proving to be very costly for the visitors. This is nicely tossed up outside off, Campher is tempted go for an expansive drive. He nails it, but can't keep it down and it's superbly taken at extra cover by Miraz.. 82/4 26.4 to LJ Tucker, big, big appeal for lbw as Tucker plays outside the line. Ahsan Raza says not out and Bangladesh review in the nick of time. There were multiple appeals from the bowler and those close-in. They think there's some merit in the appeal and it certainly looks that way upon first viewing of the replay. No bat involved for sure. Ball tracking comes back to confirm this would've smashed leg stump. What a final session this young man, Murad is having.. 85/5 53.5 to A Balbirnie, Reviews galore! This looks very adjacent and doesn't look like there's a lot going in favor of the batter. Landed fuller and skidded on, driftted towards middle and leg as he loaded up for a slog sweep. Not even a murmur on ultra-edge as the ball passes the bat. Seemed close on first look. Ball tracker loading up. Hits the back leg. Pitching in line, impact in line and hitting leg-stump partially so Bangladesh finally break the stand which got frustrating for them. 182/7 69.4 to J Neill, he's run out of patience! Looks to go straight down town but ends up slicing it off a thickish outside edge, the fielder at long-off runs to his right and grabs it on the second attempt.. 252/9
