The match between Hyderabad Under-22s and Goa Under-22s saw the hosts complete a facile innings and 17 run victory at the ECIL Ground at Hyderabad.
On the first day, Hyderbad won the toss, elected to bat first against Goa. The Hyderabad side boasted a strong batting line up and moved from strength to strength against a Goa bowling attack that could do little to make inroads. Anirudh Singh made 88 (197 balls, 13 fours), but it was NA Yadav who stole the show. Slamming 139 off as many balls, Yadav struck 21 boundaries and cleared the ropes on three occasions. At 403 for 7, Hyderabad declared their innings closed.
The target of 404 for a first innings lead proved to be too much for Goa. Mohammed Ghouse with 6/58 was the wrecker in chief as Goa succumbed to a paltry 138 all out in 40 overs. Asked to follow on, Goa were once again floundering. Losing wickets at refular intervals, they ended the second day on 191/6 despite a good 65 from opener S Kamat.
Starting the last day on 191/6, Goa were still 104 runs behind after being asked to follow on. Nothing short of a superhuman effort could save Goa the blushes. On the day, there were no heroics forthcoming, and the visitors' last four wickets delayed the inevitable by 16.5 overs. Goa were all out for 248 in 46.5 overs, losing the match by an innings and 17 runs, Goa collected no points from the game while Hyderabad were left with 8 points.

Blues' collapse leaves Warriors in box seat

New South Wales has lost its last nine second innings wickets during the final session of the second day of the Pura Cup clash with the Western Warriors at the WACA Ground, stumbling badly after a renewed show of aggression had looked like bringing two days of pedestrian batting action to a halt.
The Warriors look certain to grab victory tomorrow after knocking over the Blues for a total of 130 - an outcome which leaves the visitors holding just a seventy-two run lead overall.
After New South Wales managed a mere 131 in its first innings on day one, the home side was all out today for just 189, giving it first innings points but a lead of only fifty-eight runs. The match then tilted decisively back in the Warriors' favour, though; despite an early act of recovery which included within it the match's first half-century partnership (between Michael Bevan and Mark Higgs), the Blues lost seven late wickets to barely remain in the contest.
The Warriors have veteran medium-fast bowler Jo Angel (2/25), all-rounder Brendon Julian (2/57) and, especially, captain Tom Moody (5/26) to thank for their good fortune. All three produced great things when handed the ball late in the day.

Counter-attacking Lehmann tees off in hopeless situation for Redbacks

A badly inconvenienced Darren Lehmann produced an astonishing counter-attacking innings but Queensland continues to hold most of the aces over South Australia after day two of the Pura Cup clash between the sides at the 'Gabba in Brisbane today

A badly inconvenienced Darren Lehmann produced an astonishing counter-attacking innings but Queensland continues to hold most of the aces over South Australia after day two of the Pura Cup clash between the sides at the 'Gabba in Brisbane today.
There was the spectacular clatter of wickets today that a green-tinged pitch had failed to produce after the Queenslanders were invited to bat first yesterday. But not before the Bulls had established a position of command on the back of a 145 run partnership for the fourth wicket between Stuart Law (87) and Andrew Symonds (85). Both players were at their authoritative best this morning as they took their team from the overnight mark of 3/229 to 3/322 shortly before lunch.
It was probably a measure of Queensland's dominance of the South Australian pace attack again this morning that it took the unlikely figure of Shane Deitz (2/17) to finally inspire a Redback recovery in this match. Deitz is an emerging batsman, and part-time wicketkeeper. But he is not highly regarded, it is fair to say, as a leg spin bowler. So when the twenty-five year old snared the wickets of both Law and Symonds inside the space of eight deliveries to disrupt their association and then trigger a collapse, it had an ironic touch about it.
The last five wickets tumbled for twenty-nine runs as Brett Swain (4/96), Paul Wilson (1/46) and Mick Miller (1/62) finally crashed through a tame Queensland lower order. Swain was, in fact, on a hat-trick at one stage after claiming Lee Carseldine (5) and Brendan Creevey (0) with successive deliveries.

The day was marred by protests from both the teams suspecting players of being overaged. Six of the Haryana players and five of the MP players were sent for a medical check up due to the protest. The players under protest were unable to participate on the day and MP fielded with nine players throughout the day. The seventh Haryana wicket fell shortly after the tea interval, the umpires and captains decided to call off the match as there were no players in the Haryana camp left to bat.
