But he's deceived by the lack of pace, and the cut has been edged to the keeper. The question is whether Cloete took the catch clean as the ball was dipping on him. 1.2 to AK Markram, caught behind! Sipamla aims a cross seamed delivery full and wide, inviting the drive, and Markram has a full go at it. All he can do is send a thick edge through to Cloete behind the stumps, however, and Spartans strike early. 3/1 5.4 to F du Plessis, du Plessis is caught at cover by de Villiers! Sipamla aimed one full and du Plessis didn't bother keeping his drive down, but he could only get it as far as de Villiers at cover. Fitting, in a way, that it's his old school-mate and South Africa team-mate that gets him. 48/3 9.2 to DJ Bravo, sliced miles in the air, and it's easily caught by AB de Villiers! Sipamla speared the ball down full again, and Bravo backed away to give himself room but sliced underneath his drive, sending the ball straight up into the air. 17.2 to TL Moreki, inside-edged to the keeper! The googly earns Mendis the wicket. Full outside off, and the tailender goes for an expansive drive. The ball spins inwards, takes the inside-half of the bat, and deposits itself near the keeper's groin. He composes himself, collects the ball from between his legs, and completes the catch to send Paarl nine down. 120/9 17.4 to D Paterson, full and wide outside off stump, and he skips down the wicket to slap this over cover. 6.2 to VB van Jaarsveld, never mind what he looks like, von Berg has struck almost straight away to remove van Jaarsveld! The left hander used his feet to try to get to the pitch, and wasn't quite to it but went through with a big hit into the leg side, holing out to long on. Nice catch under pressure from Agathangelou, who was really close to the ropes. 48/4 13.3 to M Mosehle, hit high, but not long enough! Full outside off, and he clears his front leg to try and muscle a slog over long off. Ball spins away after pitching, and the shot takes the bat's toe end. In the air for eternity, but eventually comes down to Earth, and long off is under that to complete a tricky catch. 96/7 13.5 to BC Fortuin, edged again, but this time there's a fielder at slip! Tossed up nicely outside off, and Fortuin goes for the drive again. Driven with the turn, but it takes the bat's shoulder, and a diving catch at first slip sends Fortuin back. 100/8 | ||||||||||
