searing wide yorker and he opens the face to steer it down to short third. Pakistan keep their calm and have won the series 2-1, winning the decider by 13 runs
Pakistan vs West Indies, 3rd T20I at Lauderhill, WI vs PAK, Aug 03 2025 - Match Result
Thank you for your company. Goodnight and take care
Sahibzada Farhan, Player of the Match: Happy to contribute with runs and towards the win. Conditions were similar to last night but I planned with Saim to play with positive intent and not spare any loose deliveries. I'm really enjoying batting alongside Saim. We complement each other well and he guides me too. The entire focus now is on the tri-nation series and then the Asia Cup.
Mohammad Nawaz, Player of the Series: The plan becomes basic when you get these kinds of pitches; natural variation comes into play. Today the pitch was a bit better and with the right-left combination, and me bowling the first over, the situation meant I couldn't complete my quota, but it worked out well in the end. I've bowled with the new ball before so I have a good idea how to bowl in the powerplay. Caribbean players are strong guys so I have to be 100 percent with my lines and stick to the basics. These days, if you bowl in one line and length, the batters can line you up easily so the idea is to stay ahead of the batter and do the opposite of what they expect. (My favourite all-rounders) Yuvraj Singh and Shahid Afridi, of course
Shai Hope, West Indies Captain: I commend the bowlers for the effort they put in throughout the series. The wicket was more conducive for stroke-play today. We speak a lot about execution with the ball. Just trying to have a complete game. I can see some progression in small areas but we need consistency. We need that intent like Alick showed, his class really stood out. Consistency is the key. Captaincy is tough...games are coming thick and fast and there isn't much time to discuss or reflect.
Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan Captain: I'm always smiling. It was a team performance. There's always going to be areas to improve, and as a team, we just want to keep improving and moving forward. For me, win or lose - obviously winning is very, very important - but as long as we focus on the process, we'll win more often. It was a different pitch today, slightly better. Making 190 was a massive boost for us. The way the spinners bowled was outstanding. Sufiyan brought us back, Haris bowled well, Faheem and Hasan showed great character in the last over; it was amazing to see that. Sufiyan and Abrar are very, very big assets for us. Whatever series we're playing, it's important to us. We just want to keep improving and follow our process and if we do that, we have enough talent to win games.
Another exhilarating contest between these brilliant T20I teams. Pakistan managed to step up in the big moments tonight and had that extra cushion of runs towards the end. West Indies left too many runs to chase late in the innings and the equation became a daunting task as Pakistan's bowlers strung together enough good deliveries to keep them in check. Pakistan will head into the Asia Cup with high confidence. Farhan and Ayub were sublime, each striking well-crafted half-centuries, and once again the spinners did the job. The caravan now moves to Trinidad for the three-match ODI series starting Friday
Moeed: "The real qs, who gets to be the player of the series?? Saim Ayub for his all-round performances?? Nawaz, the highest wicket taker?? Sufyan Muqeem who strangled WI in middle overs?? "
hits it into the pitch, pulls his length back and slants it on middle, swivel pull sends the ball sailing over midwicket
pitch-perfect wide yorker and he is unable to lay bat on it
not far from the blockhole and angled into middle, lashed down into the gap at long-on and fetches a four
goes fuller and slanting in at middle, whips it straight into the hands of Farhan at deep midwicket, gets the prized scalp and roars in celebration!
fires in a yorker down the leg side, misses the target, will have to reload
around the wicket, hits a fuller length and wide of off, marginally inside the tramline on off, touch and go
Moeed: "No brainer, has to be Hassan..Can't rely on Faheem..And what a match this was for Haris Rauf, proved too hot for WI today.."
only four fielders will be allowed outside the ring due to slow over rate penalty
gets it right, full and wide, whisked to deep point, 25 required off the last
Does not miss it second time around, low full toss outside off and he flays him for a six over cow corner, Haris is livid with himself, hitting the turf
Ruhterford is gutted with himself to miss out on this low full toss wide of off
Who do you think should bowl the final over?
Wide yorker and jabbed to deep point
gets the wide yorker right on this occasion, jammed into the covers, Hasan hunts it down in a flash
Haris charging in, goes fuller and wide off, fractionally outside the marker on off, wide given and Haris does not like the call
Ashish: "In the words of Sunny G "stupid stupid stupid. You can't retire your prime batter out for holder who misses in 4 and hits in 1"!"
over the wicket, wide yorker dug out to deep backward point
looped up on a length with some width, swatted in the air and it holds up near the rope at deep cover point
quicker on a length outside off, covers his off-stump and drives it down to extra cover
too short and pushed across off, cross bat shot to cover, not timing at all
good length and just outside off, forces it along the ground to cover
gets the big fish! bowls a brute of a flipper that disturbs the leg-stump and Holder standstill in utter disbelief, it's a bail trimmer. Excellent delivery that will make the equation tougher, Holder was loading for a big hoik over square leg
over the wicket, quicker on a length and angling into the pads, unable to flick it away
