4.1 to KSA McKenzie, Holes out to deep square! Mayers gets his first wicket in CPL 2023! Dug in and he goes for the pull looking a bit ungainly, throws his bat at it and Evans gobbles it up gleefully in the deep. Royals couldn't have asked for a better start! A lot of responsibility on Alex Hales to hold this innings together.. 16/2

1.2 to BA King, Uppish! Gottim, suckered with the hard length delivery in the channel. Dug in and he takes the bait, comes off the splice of the bat and Qais settles under it at deep backward point, hangs onto it brilliantly. That is a big breakthrough early in the piece. Two back-to-back early departures for the captain. How will Tallawahs respond? Let's find out. 3/1 5.2 to AD Hales, That's an absolutely breathtaking stunner by Evans! It's never easy taking a catch while backtracking and he made sure to keep his eyes locked on the ball, kept running back and pocketed the catch well at long-off. Another major breakthrough as the ball hits him high on the blade and he didn't get the timing he was looking for, not much elevation. Hales has to go! It's a massive moment in this game. 23/3

12.2 to RA Reifer, Big gap between bat and ripping legbreak, you could have driven a car through it. Gorgeous legbreak, a leg-spinner's delight. Pitched on a length outside off and then it came back insanely, beating his wild hoick and wrecking the stumps much to the delight of Qais.. 77/4 16.5 to SSJ Brooks, Qais gets his man, has the last laugh! Powell, who has been a livewire in the field, takes a stupendous running catch at long-on. That has got to be one of the most sensational catch of CPL. Tries to lift it over the fielder's head but didn't get underneath it. Brooks has played a crucial knock for his team, hauling them out of trouble and now it's down to Allen and Imad to finish strong.. 131/5

18.1 to FA Allen, Furniture disturbed! Van der Merwe is pumped up! Allen departs for two, pitched up outside off, attempts a cut and misjudged the length.. 137/6 |

3.4 to KR Mayers, Huge appeal and up goes the finger! Arm ball from Green does the trick. Tossed up fuller and skids through the deck, Mayers goes down on one knee to play an ambitious slog sweep but by the time bat came down, ball had already tenderized his pads. Green with a vicious fist pump and fiery celebration. 6/1 15.3 to LJ Evans, Nifty footwork at short fine leg from Mohammad Amir to cling onto the catch! Went for the full-blooded sweep, got the top edge and the ball fountained up. Amir was spiraling but did well in the end to held onto the catch. Much-needed wicket for Tallawahs. 114/3

18.1 to A Athanaze, Slightly shorter on middle, top-edge fountained straight up and fell into Alex Hales' hands but take a bow for Athanaze. This has been a fabulous knock but he will be gutted to lose his wicket at this stage and failing to get his team over the line.. 142/4

5.2 to RRS Cornwall, Just when he started to cut loose, he has lost the plot. Round the wicket, zips it in quicker on a length and it holds its line on off, goes for the big hit without sizing up Imad at all and duly perishes, off the thigh into the stumps zingers are alight and the big man takes the long walk back into the pavilion. 25/2
