The ball was on the fuller side, and angling across after pitching around off stump. 36.5 to CR Ervine, superb catch by Samarawickrama! He has patrolled that point region all day, and fielded well too. This time he threw himself full stretch to his right, with the ball sticking into his right hand to dent Zimbabwe's progress. Ideally, Ervine should have put this ball away, having got a shortish ball, which was wide of off. He went punching behind square, only for Samarawickrama to end his well-compiled innings. 182/5 38.5 to RP Burl, gone, the off stump is bent! Burl ends up squatting down and falling down in seemingly trying to pull at this short-of-a-length ball pitching around sixth stump. But the ball angles back in sharply - almost skids through - while not bouncing as considerably as Burl must have anticipated. 11.4 to J Gumbie, bowled him! Theekshana hits back immediately after being taken for a four. It seemed to be like a flicker, bowled on a length just outside off. The ball hinted to come back in - and it slightly did, too - but Gumbie was pushing at it from outside off. That left a big gap between bat and pad, thus hitting the middle and off stumps. 61/2 24.2 to M Shumba, soft dismissal - chipped to short midwicket! Tries to close the bat's face to play it leg side but he closes the face too early. Popped up for the fielder lurking and he's gone!. 114/3 42.1 to M Faraz Akram, trapped him in front! Length ball lands on leg, slides right through, and hits Akram on the back foot with him offering a flick too late. He doesn't bother reviewing.. 202/8 44.4 to T Mufudza, over and out - Theekshana finishes with four! Classical googly landing full outside off and turning in while Mufudza drives away from his body. 25.1 to Sikandar Raza, one brings two! Tosses it up. Raza's eyes light up. Goes for a big swing of the bat but gets a thick outside edge with the ball turning away. He loses his shape and when he looks back, he sees the fielder at short third man celebrating. Massive wicket for Sri Lanka. 115/4 41.6 to C Madande, full ball on middle. He gets down to fend but the bat hits his pad instead of the ball. The ball, meanwhile, held its line after pitching and hit him on the front leg. 0.5 to WIA Fernando, Zimbabwe go up in appeal for a caught behind, but the umpire is unmoved. Ervine reviews, though. There didn't seem to be any sound in real time, but we'll see. Ngarava bowled on a length just outside off, with the ball staying slightly lower than Avishka might have expected. He went for a slash, with the ball going below his bat. And, and... UltraEdge shows a pretty considerable bottom edge, with the ball going low into the keeper's hands. Zimbabwe strike in the first over. 4/1 2.2 to S Samarawickrama, taken at second slip! Good catch by Ervine moving to his left, given the ball arrived close to his chest. Ngarava strikes again, as Sadeera falls flashing far from himself. The bowler went on the fuller side of a length, pitching it wide of off as it angled away. Sadeera drove at it with a horizontal bat - he had escaped in Ngarava's last over too - but got an outside edge which flew to Ervine. 16/2 13.5 to BKG Mendis, Ngarava gets his man! Short of length ball and he was trying to cut this delivery angling across, but it didn't have the elevation. Burl dives to his left and pockets a sharp catch. 51/3 15.6 to KIC Asalanka, edged and taken! Like the last ball, he bowls a short length ball outside off that Asalanka attempted to cut. Extra bounce induces an edge, and that's SL four down! What a spell. 53/4 41.3 to M Theekshana, holes out at the edge of cover! That's a five-wicket haul for Ngarava. Goes full outside off. Theekshana finds a ball in the slot and tries to free his arms. Slices the drive to cover, where Akram is lurking.. 168/7 | ||||||||||

42.3 to J Liyanage, out for 95! And Sri Lanka slide further. This wasn't full enough for a lofted shot over mid-off. And the ball hits the non-meaty part of the bat. Easy one for mid-off to take. Reckon Liyanage wanted to get Sri Lanka ahead of the DLS par with the drizzle in the air, but instead holes out and leaves the hosts further behind. A terrific innings though.. 172/8 | ||||||||||

26.3 to SSD Arachchige, this is given lbw after a loud, confident appeal, but Arachchige reviews rather immediately. It seemed like this was too high, but we'll see. That was bowled on a length, while being angled into the left-hander. Replays show there is no inside edge, as he looked to nudge from middle and off. The ball pitched just outside off, and turned in. Ball tracking show it would have turned in to hit the top of middle stump. Zimbabwe land another blow, as the spinners get into the action. 90/5 30.5 to MD Shanaka, Raza and Gumbie are celebrating without caring about or even looking at the umpire. Shanaka has edged behind to Gumbie. Raza bowled it short and around fifth stump, releasing it from back of the hand and getting it to turn away. Shanaka looked to slash at that, but got an edge behind, which Gumbie did well to take pretty high, considering the bounce off the surface. 112/6 | ||||||||||
