Despite minor opening day hiccups, the Americas' championship got underway
with glorious blue skies and hot weather replacing otherwise bleak overcast
morning skies with rain forecast.
Andrew Eade ICC Development Manager and Chris Tetley, ICC Project Officer
are present, and join Karam Gopaulsingh, Tournament Director and Austin
Ward, CCA Senior Cordinator as well as several other volunteers at maple
leaf cricket ground in King City.
Last evening, there was a welcome reception attended by all teams as well
as the Presidents of the Bermuda and Cayman Islands Associations and the
Vice President of the Argentina Cricket Association and the President and
other Canadian cricket officials.
Cayman Islands scored 137 in 44 overs after being put into bat by the USA.
At lunch the USA were 19 for 0 in 4 overs, a game they should win?
Bermuda scored a mammoth 346 for 8 in 50 overs with C Marshall scored 164
(14 fours and 7 sixes) leading the way against the Argentine attack.
