At Dhaka, January 20, 2005 (day/night). Zimbabwe won by 22 runs. Toss: Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe recorded their first win in 17 one-day internationals since they last met Bangladesh
at Harare in March 2004. Their total was based on fifties from Masakadza and Taylor and some
late hitting by Chigumbura, who smashed 41 runs in 32 balls as the last ten overs yielded 71.
Still, Bangladesh seemed to be cruising home at 119 for two. Then Hondo found reverse swing
in his second spell and, helped by cavalier batting, turned the game. Bangladesh did revive the
chase later, when Chigumbura was taken off for bowling two beamers - but Bangladesh were all
out with 11 balls to spare.
Man of the Match: D. T. Hondo.
