Barbados leg-spinner Dave Marshall has returned home prematurely
after being denied a work permit to play professional cricket in
England.
Marshall, 25, left here late last month and was expected to
represent Vauxhall in the Norwich League, but spent just one day
in England after immigration officials said he had to go.
"I am very hurt and disappointed about the whole affair as I was
really looking forward to playing league cricket in England," he
said yesterday, noting he was still hoping to return to England
to fulfil his contract.
"It was just a misunderstanding, but I am keeping my fingers
crossed and hoping that something can be worked out quickly in my
favour," Marshall added.
