Bengal-Orissa tie postponed due to overnight rain

The East Zone Cooch Behar Trophy match between Bengal and Orissa which was scheduled to start from today at the Eden Gardens, Calcutta was postponed due to heavy overnight rain. The umpires inspected the closing area at 9.30 a.m., 11.00 a.m., 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. and then called off play for the day. The pitch was not affected because it was covered.
