Following their comprehensive defeat in the first Test, India are out to 4/1 to bounce back and win the second Test at Chennai. Australia are 6/5, the same price as the draw. Australia are now even hotter favourites for the series - they are 1/6, with India out to 11/1. A drawn series is 5/1.
History
In the classic 2000-01 series, Chennai was the scene of the third and decisive Test. Australia were bowled out for 391, with Matthew Hayden making an imperious 203 and Harbhajan Singh taking 7 for 133. India's reply was led by Sachin Tendulkar with 126, but half-centuries from SS Das, Sadagoppan Ramesh, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman helped them take the lead with 501.
Australia were bowled out for 257 in their second innings, with Harbhajan taking 8 for 84, and India crept past the target of 148 for the loss of eight wickets.
Man of the Match
Harbhajan Singh and Matthew Hayden were the joint Men of the Match awards at Chennai in 2000-01. And, following his 11 wickets at Bangalore, "The Turbanator" is 7/1 favourite to repeat the feat, heading up a trio of spinners at the top of this market (Anil Kumble 15/2, Shane Warne 8/1), while Hayden is 17/2 to be the leading batsman. A lot is expected of VVS Laxman, largely because of his record against Australia, and punters can get a generous 14/1 on him to be the Man of the Match.
Top Team Batsman
India's batting line-up, so strong on paper, is approaching crisis point following more than six months of lacklustre performances. Parthiv Patel, the wicketkeeper, was the unlikely winner of the Top India Batsman in India's first innings at Bangalore, and Patel is 18/1 to repeat the feat at Chennai. Of the more recognised batsmen, Rahul Dravid is favourite (3/1), followed by VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag (4/1). Mohammad Kaif may come in to bolster the batting, and he is a tempting 9/1 to lead the first-innings scoring.
Other markets
You can also bet on which side will gain a first-innings lead (India 13/8, Australia 4/9) and the highest opening partnership in the first innings (India 5/4, Australia 4/7), as well as Batsman Matches.
