An English Heritage blue plaque is to be unveiled outside the birthplace of CB Fry - the great sporting allrounder, cricket writer and former England batsman.
The plaque will be unveiled by his grandson, Charles Fry (MCC's chairman) on Monday, April 25 - 133 years, to the day, after the birth of CB, who captained England at cricket, represented his country at football, equalled the world long-jump record, and was offered the throne of Albania.
The event will take place at 11 o'clock on Monday morning, at 144 St James's Road in Croydon.
