Several potential sponsors, Telus Mobility and others which conflicted with major sponsors were disallowed.

Another contributing sponsor that we need to thank is Franklin-Templeton Investments who have contributed to the Team but have most recently been subjected to a possible reassessment as a potential CWC 2003 sponsor.

We should know within hours if there is any practical way for that sponsorship to be mobilized for the Cricket World Cup 2003 in South Africa.

The team is now in South Africa, apart from one player, Abdool Samad, who left Toronto on Sunday morning via Atlanta for Johannesburg and should join them today.
