Lots of action in the two IPL games that were played on Thursday, but as far as the Star Wars points table goes, it's still Ian Chappell at No. 1.
Ian leads Sambit Bal by 293, though in terms of total points accrued it was Sambit who had the better day: 538 as compared to Ian's 485. This allowed Sambit to cut Ian's lead down by 53 points. What helped Sambit was his choice of trump in the Mumbai Indians-Rajasthan Royals game: Sanath Jayasuriya fetched 174 points, as compared to Sachin Tendulkar (Ian's trump) who accounted for 104.
Sambit is 758 ahead of Sanjay Manjrekar who is at No. 3, who in turn is 1018 points ahead of No. 4 ranked David Lloyd.
Sambit has three players featuring in today's Delhi Daredevils-Kings XI Punjab game, while Ian has four. The only player who is not a common pick is Delhi captain Virender Sehwag, who features in Ian's team. Wonder what difference he could make to the standings tomorrow.
