With Madhya Pradesh having already taken the first innings lead
against Gujarat by close on the second day's play there was little
interest left on the final day of the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19)
pre quarterfinal between the two teams at Pune on Sunday. An unbeaten
century by Gujarat skipper AA Christian prevented the day's play from
becoming entirely meaningless.
Replying to Gujarat's first innings total of 270, MP were 309 for
eight wickets at close on Saturday. They were all out for 360 on
Sunday morning. In the remaining time, Gujarat were 279 for seven in
their second innings when stumps were finally drawn. Christian's
unbeaten 102 was compiled off 143 balls with 12 boundary hits.
