The 50 cricketers chosen for the first official Hall of Fame were unveiled at Lord's on April 9. The brainchild of the newly formed Federation of International Cricketers' Associations proved 'fiendishly difficult' for a panel of judges which included Dickie Bird, Sir Donald Bradman, The Lord Cowdrey of Tonbridge, Sir Garfield Sobers and the nine current Test captains. There are 19 English players, 12 West Indians, 10 Australians, three Pakistanis, three Indians, two South Africans and one New Zealander.
