Hasan Raza strengthens Habib Bank's position

A round-up of the second day's play of the fourth round matches in the Patrons Trophy

Hasan Raza missed his ton by five runs but Habib Bank Limited (HBL) piled up a mammoth 510 in their first innings, on day two of their Patrons Trophy match against Attock Group at Karachi.
Attock Group in reply, were struggling at 79 for 4 at stumps. Former Test allrounder Azhar Mahmood took three wickets for 13 runs in a fiery seven-over spell.
Raza hit five fours and four sixes, before he was smartly caught at mid-off by Babar Naeem off Sohail Tanvir for 95. Aftab Khan, who made 73 off 91 balls with eight boundaries and a six, added exactly 100 runs for the fifth wicket with Raza. Wicketkeeper Humayun Farhat made 52 with five fours and a six while Kamran Hussain chipped in with an unbeaten 53, with five boundaries and a six.
Rizwan Akbar, the Pakistan Customs seamer, snapped up four wickets to leave National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) struggling on the second day of their Patrons Trophy match at the NBP Sports Complex Stadium in Karachi on Friday.
Rizwan bowled with fire, taking 4 for 47 in 21 overs and offspinner Murtaza Hussain got 2 for 65 in 21 overs as NBP ended the day at 256 for 8, still six runs behind Customs' first innings score of 262.
Fawad Alam slammed a fighting 60 in 83 balls laced with seven boundaries. Salman Butt made 47 before being bowled by Murtaza, striking nine fours. Earlier, resuming their overnight score of 237 for 7, Customs added just 25 to their total.
Fast bowler Mohammad Sami, recalled to the Pakistan team for the third Test against West Indies, polished off the tail to finish with three wickets for 88 runs.
