Hyderabad completely dominated the opening day's play in their three
day Cooch Behar Trophy South Zone league match against Goa at the
Gymkhana ground in Secundarabad on Wednesday. After dismissing Goa for
125 runs, Hyderabad replied with 77 for two at stumps.
Skipper NA Yadav was the wrecker-in-chief in the Goa innings with four
for 40. Goa made a bad start and never really recovered. The bright
spot was provided by A Angle who, coming in at No 8, after six wickets
had fallen for 64 runs, hit an unbeaten 41 off 78 balls. Angle then
took both Hyderabad wickets before close but a fine unbeaten 46 by
opener T Suman enabled Hyderabad to retain the advantage the bowlers
had given them.
