BCCI gives financial aid to ailing Aibara
The secretary of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Shivlal Yadav has said that the ailing former Hyderabad Ranji Trophy cricketer Eddie Aibara has been awarded a financial aid of Rs 25,000 from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
The 87-year-old Aibara was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit of the Mediciti hospital in Hyderabad on May 6 with heart and kidney ailments and at the behest of the HCA, the BCCI have made the aid.
Aibara is the lone surviving member of the Hyderabad Ranji team of 1937-38 which won the trophy for the first time. After his playing years were over, he had dedicated himself to the game as a coach. Some of the Indian cricketing stalwarts like Sunil Gavaskar and ML Jaisimha were at some point or the other coached by Aibara.
