BCCI code of conduct committee to meet on July 24
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) three member code of
conduct committee will meet in Mumbai on July 24 to draft the code for
the Indian players and the BCCI officials.
The code of conduct committee comprises Tamil Nadu Cricket Association
secretary Ashok Kumbhat, Shashank Manohar of the Vidharba Cricket
Association and Subba Rao of the Andhra Cricket Association. The
commission was set up by the BCCI in the aftermath of the match fixing
scandal.
Indian team selection for Crosscutter Challenge on July 20
The Indian Under-15 team for the Costcutter World Cricket Challenge
2000 to be held in England from July 30 to August 10 is to be picked
at Bangalore July 20 after selection trials.
The list of 21 probables includes the 14-member Indian Under-15 team
which won the ACC Championships in Malaysia recently. The other seven
players added in the list are Arvind Mann (Rajasthan), Parthiv Patel
(Gujarat), Shankar Saini (Haryana), Srinivas Pai (Hyderabad), Guarav
Diman (Karnataka), Yusuf Pathan (Baroda) and Vasu Devdas (Tamil Nadu).
The probables: Subhash Dixit (Uttar Pradesh), Mrigen Talukdar (Assam),
Abhinav Kumar (Hyderabad), Tirupati Ambati Rayadu (Hyderabad), Ashraf

Sadanand Viswanath to coach Assam cricketers
Former Indian wicketkeeper Sadanand Viswanath is to coach the Guwahati
Cricket Coaching Centre (GCCC) trainees at the Nehru Stadium in
Guwahati from September 6 to 25. The GCCC is organising the camp for
their trainees in an effort to prepare them for the forthcoming
domestic season.
Viswanath is the second international cricketer to impart training in
Guwahati after Eknath Solkar, who conducted a coaching camp for the
State level cricketers during the 1994-45 season.
Dravid lays good foundation for Kent, Kumble demolishes Durham
Indian middle order batsman Rahul Dravid scored a patient 55 runs of
149 balls to help Kent take a 76-run lead over Derbyshire as bad light
stopped play on the second day of the PPP Healthcare County
Championship Division One match at Derby on Thursday.
Resuming at 27 for 1, Dravid and Robert Key (83) added 140 runs for
the second wicket before Dravid was caught behind by Mathew Krikken
off Dominic Cork. Then captain Mathew Fleming scored 47 runs to help
Kent to a respectable 257 for the loss of eight wickets in their first
innings.
Meanwhile, Leicestershire leg spinner Anil Kumble picked up four
wickets for 32 runs as Durham slumped from 107 for three to 171 all
out after lunch at Leicester. Kumble and Ormond tormented Durham's
middle and lower to pick up seven wickets while giving away only 64
runs in the bargain. The third match of the day featuring Lancashire
and Somerset saw the Indian captain Sourav Ganguly give away 57 runs
off his 12 overs without any success as Somerset piled up 370 runs for
the loss of six wickets.
