Arothe steps down from captaincy, Martin to lead Baroda:
Soon after Baroda's defeat at the hands of Gujarat in the West Zone
Ranji Trophy One-day championship on Tuesday, the Baroda team skipper
Tushar Arothe announced his decision to step down.
Announcing the decision during a hurriedly called press conference at
the Alembic ground in Baroda, Arothe gave no specific reason for
resigning from the post. He however added that his services as a
player would still be available.
Meanwhile the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has appointed former
Indian player Jacob Martin as the skipper for their last match of the
competition against Mumbai.
The secretary of the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), S Haridas said
that the association has named NJ John the skipper of the State
under-16 team for the Vijay Merchant Trophy match against Goa slated
to be played at Thiruvananthapuram from November 24 to 26.
Speaking to reporters in Kochi, Haridas said that Rohan Prem, who had
performed brilliantly in the under-14 section, has been included in
the team.

Rajasthan team for Vijay Merchant Trophy
The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) selection committee has named
Arvind Maan as the skipper of the State Under-16 team for the Vijay
Merchant Trophy tournament. Rajasthan are scheduled to play Vidharba
at the Field Club Ground in Udaipur in their first match of the
tournament.
