Jones found not guilty of Code of Conduct breach

England player Geraint Jones has been found not to have breached the ICC Code of Conduct after a hearing relating to an incident that occurred during his country's second Test against Bangladesh in Durham.

Jones was found not guilty of conduct that brings the game into disrepute by ICC Match Referee Alan Hurst after a post-match hearing in Durham on Sunday 5 June. The incident related to the dismissal of Nafees Iqbal, when it was alleged that Geraint Jones took `the ball on the bounce'.

Jones was found not to have breached Rule C2, Level 1 of the ICC Code which relates to conduct that brings the game into disrepute.

"On the evidence presented, the actions of the player did not breach the ICC Code of Conduct. Video evidence of the incident was inconclusive, and the player's intent was not proven," said Mr Hurst.

All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player's match fee.

The charge was brought by Latif Khan, Manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Team.

Mr Hurst reached his conclusion after a hearing attended by Latif Khan, Dav Whatmore, Nafees Iqbal, Duncan Fletcher and Geraint Jones.
