It's getting close at the top of the Star Wars table. Ian Chappell is still No. 1 but he leads Sambit Bal by a slender margin of 106 points, down 91 points from yesterday.
Both Ian and Sambit went for AB de Villiers as their trump, who fetched just 56 points. While de Villiers and the Delhi Daredevils had a rare off day, it was the players from Bangalore who netted not only the win but the big points. Ian had Ross Taylor in his team, who accounted for 101, but the player who made the difference for Sambit was Jacques Kallis. His Man-of-the-Match performance was worth 192 points, allowing Sambit to cut into Ian's lead. Meanwhile Kallis as trump allowed Sanjay Manjrekar to finally cut Sambit's lead to below 1000 points - he now trails Sambit by 886 and leads David Lloyd by a whopping 1457 points.
The points from the double-header lined up today could play a crucial role in the Star Wars standings.
