Midlands won the National League, beating Manicaland by eight wickets in the final at the Kwekwe Sports Club.
Manicaland were put into bat and struggled from the off, with the only meaningful contribution coming from Tinotenda Mawoyo, the captain, who made 42 off 45 balls. Solomon Mire was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 18 while there were two wickets each for Bright Benhura and Remembrance Nyathi as Manicaland were bowled out for 126.
Midlands openers Friday Kasteni and Simba Gupo sealed victory with an opening stand of 112 which was ended when Kasteni, who scored 59 from 56 balls, was caught and bowled by Foster Mupita trying to pull against the spin.
Although Benhura fell in identical fashion for 0, Gupo showed his maturity to finish unbeaten on 48 off 56 balls.
