Kent CCC Media Release

Kent County Cricket Club today announced a post tax profit of £13,242 for the year ending 31 October 2002. This compares with a loss of £40,123 for the previous twelve months and a loss of £138,000 for 2000.
Commenting on the figures, Chairman of the Club, Carl Openshaw said:
"It is pleasing to be able to report a small profit for the year and to continue the improving trend over the past two years.
However, we cannot afford to be complacent since the finances of County Cricket remain fragile. On the field we maintained our position as one of the leading County Clubs and we also continued to make progress in other areas of our business.
We remain determined to control costs and grow revenue wherever possible and, to achieve this, we will continue to rely on the outstanding support we receive from our sponsors, members and commercial partners."
The Annual General Meeting of the Club takes place at 7.30 pm on Monday 17 March 2003 at the St Lawrence Ground, Canterbury.
