Lancashire batsman Liam Livingstone suffered a head injury after being struck by a glass during a fight at a bar in Ashford on Saturday night.
Livingstone was out celebrating with team-mates after their NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final win over Kent. Local media reported that a brawl broke out after one of the Lancashire players bumped into a man with another group. A witness was quoted as saying one of the players "had blood pouring down his face".
Police and an ambulance were called to the venue shortly before midnight. Kent police said officers had responded to reports that "a man in his twenties had been assaulted and sustained a head injury".
He saw a specialist on Monday night, missing Lancashire's Royal London Cup win over Hampshire in Southampton.
Head coach Ashley Giles, who was with his players in the bar on Saturday, said: ""I think Liam's ok. The early signs look pretty good. He's very lucky. It could have been much, much worse. Everyone is shaken up. It's a terrible thing to do and to happen.
"There's a police investigation going on, so we can't discuss it. But, as I say, it's a nasty thing. To put a glass in someone's face, I'm not going to say any more about it, but that's a pretty horrible and cowardly thing to do."
The Lancashire team were staying in Ashford, a short drive from Kent's Canterbury ground. Reports suggested that as well as Giles England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, Australia allrounder James Faulkner and other players were also present at the disturbance at the Auction House bar.
Livingstone, 22, made 12 during the tied match, which saw Lancashire progress to T20 Finals Day by virtue of losing fewer wickets.
