Mithali Raj anchored the run-chase as the Indian Women cruised to a six-wicket win in Mumbai and fought back in the one-day series. After losing the first two games, the Indian Women justified their decision to field first and restricted Australia to just 147. Lisa Keightley, the opener, made a patient 56 but the Australians suffered a middle-order collapse and lost their last nine wickets for just 27 runs.
Australia were pegged back by Neetu David, the left-arm spinner, who finished with 3 for 27 in her 10 overs and apart from the top three, none of the Australian batsmen crossed double figures. India were in full control of their chase with Jaya Sharma supporting Mithali with an assured 47. Mithali, though, was at her aggressive best and smashed 11 fours and a six to take India home. The series was at 2-1, with four games to play.
