Ireland's Intercontinental Cup fixture against Namibia which was meant to start at Stormont on Tuesday has been postponed due to visa issues facing the Namibia squad. Irish officials have confirmed, however, that the one-day matches scheduled for July 4 and 5 will go ahead and Namibia are scheduled to arrive in Belfast on Saturday, but former Irish captain Trent Johnston, on Twitter, described the situation as "a disgrace".
Officials will meet on Sunday morning to discuss what should happen to the Intercontinental fixture. "As always, while the ICC [International Cricket Council offers assistance where it can, it is the responsibility of each team's home board to arrange its own visas in advance of any tour," said Cricket Ireland.
The Namibia game is Ireland's first Intercontinental Cup fixture of the 2011-2013 tournament. The last edition was won memorably by Afghanistan.
Ireland squad William Porterfield (capt), Alex Cusack, George Dockrell, Trent Johnston, Nigel Jones, John Mooney, Graeme McCarter, Kevin O'Brien, Niall O'Brien, Andrew Poynter, Boyd Rankin, Paul Stirling, Andrew White, Gary Wilson.
