Nearing the climax of the Norwich Union League

For teams at the top, or bottom, of the table this is the time of year when every fixture takes on the intensity of a cup-tie

For teams at the top, or bottom, of the table this is the time of year when every fixture takes on the intensity of a cup-tie. Indeed, you might think that teams at the bottom of Division Two of the Norwich Union League with no hope of promotion have nothing to play for, but they do, for their finishing position could determine their success or otherwise in next season's Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy.
Remember, the bottom four sides in Division Two will not have the relatively easy passage into round four of the C&G as provided by opposition from the minor counties or board elevens, but they will have to battle it out between themselves. So, there is plenty to play for in the forthcoming weeks, whether your team is at the top or bottom of the table.
Fixtures during the next round of matches are scheduled as:
Division One:
1st September:
- Warwickshire Bears v Nottinghamshire Outlaws
- Worcestershire Royals v Kent Spitfires
2nd September:
- Durham Dynamos v Somerset Sabres
- Yorkshire Phoenix v Glamorgan Dragons
3rd September:
- Glamorgan Dragons v Worcestershire Royals
4th September:
Nottinghamshire Outlaws v Durham Dynamos
Division Two:
1st September:
- Hampshire Hawks v Middlesex Crusaders
- Lancashire Lightning v Essex Eagles
- Northamptonshire Steelbacks v Sussex Sharks
2nd September:
- Derbyshire Scorpions v Surrey Lions
3rd September:
- Sussex Sharks v Hampshire Hawks
