Basit to miss Quaid Trophy final
KARACHI, Feb 26: The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) Blues'
squad for the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I final will have nets at the
National Stadium tomorrow (Friday) here the National Stadium.
The Blues will be depleted by the absence of senior batsman Basit
Ali, who is unavailable for the five-day final against Peshawar at
the National Stadium because of national duty with the Pakistan 'A'
side. The final coincides with the third unofficial 'Test between
Pakistan 'A' and India 'A' at the Qadhafi Stadium in Lahore with both
matches commencing on March 1.
Apart from Basit, the Blues will not have the services of Munir-ul-
Haq, Shahid Iqbal, Kashif Ahmed and Ahmed Zeeshan Malik, all of whom
are involved in the Patron's Trophy Grade-II Championship for various
departmental teams.
The KCCA selection committee has asked the following cricketers to
report to team manager Mehdi Hasan tomorrow at 2.00 p.m:
Asif Mujtaba, Sohail Jaffar, Nadeem Khan, Mahmood Hamid, Shadab
Kabir, Azam Khan, Manzoor Akhtar, Javed Qadeer, Zafar Iqbal, Ali
Gohar, Ali Raza, Lal Faraz, Ali Hussain Rizvi, Naeem Tayyab, Asim
Kamal, Majid Mujtaba, Rizwan Qayyum, Akif Alvi, Rizwan Qureshi, Izhar
Elahi, Zameer Ahmed Khan and M. Hasnain.
